Asbestos Training – What Do I Need?
Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 requires employers to ensure that adequate information, instruction and training is given to their employees who are liable to be exposed to asbestos or who supervise such employees. The supporting ACoP L143 specifies the requirement for 3 different levels of asbestos training:
Asbestos Awareness – Suitable for anyone who needs or want to know more about asbestos in buildings and a legal requirement for all people employed in all sectors of the building, construction and demolition industry, (or anyone who may disturb or come into contact with asbestos through their employment) especially property managers, builders, plumbers, electricians, joiners, painters, etc who are now considered a significant ‘at risk group’. Anyone with responsibility or employed with the facilities maintenance / building services sector will particularly benefit from this course.
Non-Licensed Asbestos Removal – Essential for any persons who work on or adjacently to Lower Risk ACMs of a type not requiring an HSE license, such as Textured Coating, Asbestos Cement, Floor Tiles, etc. Training also provides guidance on HSE’s Asbestos Essentials Task Manual HSG 210.
Licensed Asbestos Removal – This detailed practical and theory training is a legal requirement for all levels of staff involved in the handling and removal of asbestos, in either a direct, supervisory or management role.
The delivery of all TASC training courses is by asbestos and health and safety professionals. They are also all still actively working in the asbestos field, which ensures they are fully up to date and knowledgeable about the different issues encountered. With a strong foundation of experience in the asbestos industry, we understand the importance of delivering highly successful learning outcomes for all operatives. TASC leads the way in providing cutting edge training programmes, designed to introduce participants to ‘best practice’ and to build each learner’s skills, knowledge and confidence through active participation and involvement.
We pay special attention to creating a comfortable learning environment to enable participants to gain the most out of each course.
The delegates experience at TASC is one of achievement and confidence building, providing the attendees with the knowledge and aptitude that is required to do their job. All our training is in line with current legislation and guidance and we aim to deliver and assess individuals to ensure they fully understand the elements of their job roles related to asbestos management and handling.
Training can be undertaken at our fully operational in-house training room in Styal, Manchester, for up to 12 delegates. Alternatively, we can also provide the training at your offices or another venue of your choice.
